Welcome to the virtual home of the Cultural Psychology Lab at the University of Amsterdam (CPLab@UvA). We are a group of scholars based in the Netherlands at the UvA, and our work aims to broadly examine how culture influences the way people view themselves and the world.

The research we conduct is organized around three central themes: Culture and Cognition, Emotions across Cultures, and Intergroup Relations. We use a variety of approaches to study these phenomena, that include longitudinal surveys, experimental paradigms, and behavioral observation methods. 

Through our Speakers Series, we organize fortnightly meetings for our members. Here, we either exchange research insights with one another, or we invite external speakers to share their knowledge and expertise with the group.
